Mandolato is a traditional handmade dessert made from roasted almonds, a bit of sugar and egg whites beaten into a meringue.
Its name comes from the Italian word “mandorla” (almond) and it was the favourite dessert of the Venetian aristocrats.
Even today, its recipe remains unchanged over time and is a delightful snack. You may find it packed in a small bite or in the classic bar.
Enjoy it in its classic taste with roasted almonds, or with the addition of dried fruits as well as new, amazing delicious combinations of chocolate, kum quat, strawberry, banana and limoncello!
